This is it -- our final 2Q teaser round-up before the main event. Tomorrow night at midnight is the deadline for candidates to file their fundraising reports with the FEC, and we'll round-up all the interesting numbers in our epic quarterly chart. Also on tap for this week are SSP's 2Q Cash Power Rankings for all the most competitive House and Senate races as well as our updated race ratings. Stay tuned.

MN-03:
Ashwin Madia (D): ~$650K raised (rumored) $693K raised; $738K CoH (press release)

If true, that's an absolutely stunning haul for Madia. When we get confirmation, we'll post it.

UPDATE: I just received the press release, and Madia had a stunningly successful quarter with nearly 700K raised. I've updated the link above to direct to the actual filing.

What a disappointment in FL-15
That open seat should be competitive at just R+4

Please tell me he's not our only guy in that district
If so, that may be our biggest wasted opportunity of the cycle.

He's not
Steve Blythe is the other candidate. I think Rancatore was the de facto frontrunner for the nomination for a while after we couldn't get any elected officials to run for it (Blythe is a doctor, Rancatore is a commercial pilot/reservist), but Rancatore dropped out for a while, then just recently got back in, so I think the momentum is with Blythe now. Blythe had only $6K CoH at the end of Q1, though, so we're not dealing with a fundraising powerhouse with him either (Blythe hasn't reported yet for Q2).

wow!
Merkley's COH is very low for such a good quarter.

Probably because of the May primary

Does anyone know for sure if Castle filed to run?  I believe the deadline just recently passed and he had not filed as of last week.

Filing Deadline is July 25

A bit more on MN-03

Rasmussen MN-Pres - Obama over McCain by 18

Obama - 52
McCain - 34

Obama's likely blowout win in MN is what makes me optimistic about the MN Congressional races and the MN Senate race.

YES!
This all just made my day.  I did a huge fist pump when I saw 700k, that is absolutely huge and looks to be the highest out of anyone this quarter, and he isn't even an incumbent!  (Huge advantage though, this is one of the richest CD's in the country).

And god, 18%!!!  Obama may carry everyone over the finish line, Tinkenberg, Sarvi, and the 5 seats we need for a veto-proof state House.  Gotta love that guy.
