IL-10
wohhhhhhhhhh....  That is absolutely huge and I'll be shocked if he doesnt win.  He could win it on his own this time but Obama coattails in Illinois, Kirk is done.

now that's a good quarter
nice, makes up for that crap quarter in the TX-Senate race.

considering
Kirk has a 2.7 mil to .5 mil lead in money, and probably riased 900 thousand this quarter, it's still a big deficit.

MN-1 Tim Walz

Today, Congressman Tim Walz's campaign released estimates of its fundraising numbers for the second quarter of 2008. Walz had his strongest quarter yet, with more than 2,500 individual contributors and raising more than $430,000, bringing cash on hand for the cycle to $1.2 million.

Thanks for the catch!

As with anything from Brian Moran...
You have to take it with a grain of salt. He actually only raised $900,000 and spent an extraordinary $700,000 of that total... A net of $200,000 a year from the primary is nothing- but that wasn't in Moran's press release :)

yep,
but hopefully Craigh Deeds has the nomination in his pokcet. Republicans don't have a primary though, so I'm worried. Maybe someone new will challenge McDonald.

Not at all
Creigh Deeds has a very large intrinsic disadvantage when it comes to the primary: location. He's from the sparsely-populated Shenandoah Valley, whereas Moran's base is Democratic vote-rich Northern Virginia.

It's also unlikely that McDonnell will have any challengers for the Republican nomination. The only possibility is if Tim Kaine is appointed to Obama's cabinet and Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling is elevated to Governor; Bolling would probably run for a full term in that case, and even then, there's nothing stopping McDonnell from running for re-election instead.

he's term limited to
but deeds big strength is that he's from a normal, rural area, which helps himwith rural voters.

One-term limit only applies to Governor
in recent history, Don Beyer served two consecutive terms as Lt. Governor, and Mary Sue Terry served two consecutive terms as Attorney General.
