NY-Sen: Not Her Best Day

Posted by DavidNYC

Oh, Jeanine:

"I got to tell you, was it my best day? Absolutely not," she said before adding emphatically, "Am I better than that? Absolutely not."

A year out, and already getting tagged as gaffe-prone. So sad. Will her campaign start faring better? Absolutely not!

What gets me is that Pirro is a district attorney who, at the very least, I would have expected to be a polished and charismatic speaker. Looks like she's more Robert Shapiro than Johnny Cochran. It also looks like my hopes that Hillary will get enough run for her money to damage her prospects for the '08 Presidential run are waning.

As much as I'd enjoy gloating about Pirro's ineptness, I'd much prefer a race where Republicans from all over the country were pouring money in despite the fact that they will ultimately lose. Think of all the money Democrats spent on Paul Hackett to see him lose (in a district that everyone expected him to lose).

It would be nice to have Reps. pouring in money, but it is also nice to have a few really, really safe seats. It makes a party jumpy to be defending seats in places like New York, California, and MA that should be easy wins.
We want to put the reps on the defensive, making them defend TN, MS, OH, and RI to name a few. Let them feel like every seat is a potential loss. Except Nevada, Oh Harry we don't want to run anyone in Nevada...
