Gag Reflex

Here's the lit piece I was talking about earlier -- click on the image to enlarge. You can always combat this ridiculous attack by using it as that last piece of motivation you needed to get involved with Reform Ohio Now

Unfortunately, this is exactly what I expect from the Repubs in Ohio. These are, after all, the same folks who flyered Columbus on the eve of the 04 election with 1) postcards equating support of Kerry with support of Osama; 2) bilingual lit that essentially called Kerry a babykiller; and 3) the good ole "Election day is moved to Nov 3rd" flyers (for minority neighborhoods).

Yeah, it all seems so childish and old hat to us -- but a single voter disenfranchised is one too many.

I'm surprised they didn't claim that a vote for Issues 2-5 will lead to rampant homsexuality and a wave of abortions. Guess they wanted to be a little subtle...

Actually, I think it's pretty clear they ARE implying Reform Ohio Now will lead to rampant homosexuality and awave of abortions. After all, that is what, in their opinion, threatens "family values." I wonder what these people will be saying NEXT year if the Dems sweep the state and Amendment #4 has lost and the Dems redistrict their asses into oblivion. We were can come back with "They lost----now they're complaining about they voted for!" I hate the sheer craven dishonesty of these people; the only "special interests" here are each and every VOTER of Ohio regardless of political, ethnic, religious and sexual persuasion. I agree; they're pretty special. This is an embarassment.Excuse me; I need to go work on my RON email list.

My tongues' still in cheek from the last sentence. They are absolutely claiming that the balanced implementation of democracy will lead directly to a wholesale collapse of morality.

And to think they actually admit that the more people vote, the less support there will be for radical right causes like the outlaw of all abortions and the denial of basic citizenship rights to the GLBT community.
