CA-Gov: Bill Clinton to Run in California?

Posted by Bob Brigham

From the San Francisco Examiner's PJ Corkery:

Forget Robin Williams, forget Rob Reiner … the superstar that big money Los Angeles Democrats want to run for governor of California is … Bill Clinton. Yep. Some of the Southland's deepest Democratic pockets are busily trying to persuade — some would say "hire" — Clinton to move to the Golden State and take on Schwarzenegger. They figure that Bubba can beat the faltering Terminator here in 2006 in a New York minute.

I would still vote for Phil Angelides in the primary.

Uggh, I don't like this idea, particularly as a native Californian, the carpetbagger-label will stick to both Clintons and make them look like opportunists (IMHO).

I'm all for a home-grown Governor like Angelides, particularly as I think that Schwarzenegger is tanking and Angelides can take him out singlehanded.

Note that the Examiner article contains not a single quote or piece of evidence that anyone is lifting a finger to recruit Bill; it's just asserted.

Maybe PJ got suckered by this campaign poster for Bill, produced for a Fark.com Photoshop contest.
