Republican Zealots Plan to "Go Nuclear" Next Week

Political Wire has the recap on the "Nuclear Option" to end the filibuster. They report:

1. It will happen next week

2. It will start with Judge Priscilla Owen's nomination

Before this week, the word was that the nuclear option was going to happen, absolutely and for sure, as soon as the Senate got back from recess, meaning this week.

Before the recess, the word was that Frist was absolutely, positively going to bring up the nuclear option before the recess.

Just like Republicans do, they are holding the vote open as long as it takes, trying to twist arms and get everyone in line. Only the Democrats are keeping up the heat and it's not clear if the Republicans are gaining ground at all.

How ironic that Republicans keep delaying a vote on a measure that would end the ability to delay votes!
