Props to DavidNYC

Posted by Bob Brigham

Swing State Project as been nominated for a Koufax Award in the category of Best Single Issue Blog!!!

This nomination is a high honor and recognizes the devotion DavidNYC has shown to better understanding elections in the United States.

DavidNYC's blogging contributions have also won him a coveted spot as a Daily Kos guest poster. Technorati suggests that many bloggers have noticed Swing State Project and the rising readership shows people are coming and coming back. Congratulations.

Added by Tim: Chris Bowers also deserves some serious recognition for his contribution in the growth of Swing State Project and Koufax nomination. His cattle calls and general commentary were indispensable sources of information to visitors.

I am deeply humbled! (And I really can't wait until we get the comments section working properly again.)

I also want to note one more thing about DavidNYC.

In addition to his informative commentary, he has taken steps to nurture future leaders in the netroots.

David took this site from zero visitors to over 40 thousand in one day on November 2nd. This was no small accomplishment when you consider there was already an established following at sites like Kos and MyDD when he began.

After all that work, he handed over the keys to the car to Bob and I, trusting us to participate in a meaningful dialogue with an audience he tirelessly toiled to grow from scratch. To this day, he continues to spend time and money on the upkeep of swing state project, despite his noticeable decline in involvement.

I feel like I am giving an acceptance award on behalf of someone at the Oscars. David, I have thanked you many times, but now I want to do so publicly.

It is fitting in a time of traffic resurgence at SSP that the community you built knows the paces you have gone through to keep the project alive and well.

Thanks again, Tim. I'm excited to have you & Bob at the wheel here.

Furthermore, Chris justly deserves mega-props for the GECC. (I nominated it for Best Series.) I think he's the most dedicated blogger out there, and I'm thrilled that we had a chance to feature his contributions here.
