Welcome Kos Folk...

Posted by Tim Tagaris

Yes, this was --and remains -- David NYC's blog.  Congrats to him on his new gig as a front page poster on DailyKos.

Me?  I'm ttagaris from Kos.  Jeff Seemann's (OH-16) old Communications Director.  You might remember him as well?

Anyway, thanks for stopping by.  Take a look around.  Bookmark the site and come back often.  The main thrust of this blog (as decided by its readers) is to highlight upcoming "swing races" in 2005 and 2006, along with keeping tabs on Congressional injustices (see Pork vs. Pell Grants below).  Obviously, we will talk about current events when they happen as well.

Anyway, come back.  Often.  Alright?  Seriously.  My self-esteem will go down the toilet it you don't.

And while you're here, tell us what you would like to see from the SSP as you return.

Kelly,

Thanks for the kind words. =) You make it sound like a throw-away from the dotcom bubble burst.

On Election Day we had 50,000 hits I believe. I think it might have had something to do with posting exit poll numbers. It also had a lot to do with the way David built up this site along with Chris Bowers.

Traffic has increased in the past week. I wish you would stick around and help us rebuild.

Tim

Well, I like this blog, as the "idiocy" rate is fairly low, It was especially informative during the pre-election fray.
Just thought I would post some news about Vote Recounts, which are starting to start.

Subject: [MoveOnNewMexico] Ohio Statehouse Rally 12/4 on Election Fraud All headers

Under the radar screen of the corporate owned media, there are some dramatic developments on the election fraud front in Ohio:

1. There WILL be a recount in Ohio - which Bush won by 119,000 votes, and if flipped,
sends the election to Kerry. The recount was approved by a federal court judge on Dec 2nd.

http://www.solarbus.org/stealyourelection/articles/1203-cobb.html

2. John Conyers and the Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee sent
on Dec 2nd an official request to Ohio Sec. of State Kenneth Blackwell, to explain a long list
of allegations of voter fraud and election irregularities, many quite damning. Find the full pdf
file of the official letter here:

http://www.solarbus.org/stealyourelection/articles/ohblackwellltr12204.pdf
and here: House Judiciary Democrats: http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/index.html

3. There will be a huge "Fight for Democracy" rally today 12/4 in Ohio, on
the statehouse lawn, featuring Jesse Jackson, journalist Greg Palast, and many others.
It will be broadcast live today on Pacifica Radio (and will be streamed over the internet).
See the flyer at: http://caseohio.info/
It contains links to the broadcast.

It may be too late to change the election outcome, but there are signs
that a good fight is brewing, and maybe someone will be prosecuted.

Let's not forget (as if we could) that there will be a recount here in New Mexico also. Kerry lost by only 6,000 votes, and something close to 6,000 provisional votes where discarded in Bern County alone. State law provides that, if someone has moved to the state in the last 30 days prior to the election, they can vote without being registered - as long as they show some kind of proof of residence, like a utility bill. I am wondering how many of the discarded provisional ballots where inappropriately discarded due to this fact... and other legitimate voters, like ex-felons who are allowed by state law to vote once they complete the terms of their parole, were denied their right to register in the first place are showed up to vote anyway, etc. We need to know these figures.

ALSO, We should keep in mind that Kerry lost this state by just under 6,000 votes (5,988) and if you add together the votes for Libertarian and Green and Independent Idiot Ralph Nader, that is 7,661 votes ! The independent candidates to the other direction (extreme conservative) received only 771 vote state wide.
