Gosh
I can't be the only Colts fan so far. I think New Orleans will be able to celebrate there new Mayor, but not a Super Bowl Win!!!!

You're not alone
I'm a proud Colts fan from their days in Baltimore.  My great uncle used to be a trainer with the Colts.

I was a fan of the Colts when COLTS stood for "Count on losing this Sunday".  That was a popular slogan back in 1986, when the Colts lost their first 13 games, only to win the next 3.

Governor David Paterson a swinger?
I don't think SSP has reported on this, but there are a lot of internet rumors that a big sex scandal is about to hit Paterson. Teegan Goddard mentioned it recently. And as we all know, everything that you hear on the internet is true.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...

It would partially explain why Cuomo is still waiting to announce. He's probably in a position to know about something like this.

Also, go Colts!

Well
the good news is that I really don't see how Paterson could get any more un popular anyways so who cares? Wait I retract that, the good news is Cuomo is running and the Colts are going to win!!!!!!!

I'm torn.
Normally I'd root for the Saints, but apparently the Colts are the Patriots' rivals, and as such I'm inclined to root for them just to spite Massachusetts.

hey...
you're spiting the rest of New England too!

But
The Jets are the Patriots main rivals in the AFC East, and the Colts beat the Jets, so you should have rooted for the Saints.

[ Parent ]
Okay then.
Saints it is! Looks like the winning pick, too.

off topic but wtf?

NathanWurtzel    Great time to dump a bombshell: NY GOV David Patterson is resigning tomorrow. Not sure what the final nail is

Updated story says his office is denying it
http://www.businessinsider.com...

"The governor's office completely denies any plans to resign, and says "the Times story" will not run tomorrow."

Of course, these kinds of things always get denied up until they happen, but who knows.

This is insane
I'm form Norway, I don't even know American football, I haven't slept in 48 hours (traveled from Bolivia), it's 2 AM here, I'm going to work in less than 5 hours, and I'm watching the Super Bowl. Even though I don't care much who wins, and I'm learning the rules as they play.

It's the first time the Super Bowl is sent live in Norway, and I must say that I find myself rooting for The Saints and hoping the can turn this around. I'm so f¤%¤ed for tomorrow...

Interesting
I'd be curious to hear what you think after the game, and whether or not you think you understand the rules. I think they're straight-forward enough, but every now and then a rule pops up that doesn't always seem to make sense, especially with penalties.

And good luck tomorrow. I, too, am f¤%¤ed for tomorrow, but that's an entirely separate situation!

[ Parent ]
Are you kidding me? I'v been in this country for 5 years
And I still don't understand the rules.

Tebow Ad
Maybe it's just my Republican bias, but I think that all the complainers about the ad look pretty silly now.  The ad was completely harmless.

As a liberal pro-choice democrat
yup, egg is on the face of those who caused a riot.

Meanwhile, still sad the gay dating website couldn't get their ad up.

. . . Ah who cares, none of those ads were as good as the McDonalds one with LeBron, Dwight, and Larry Byrd or the Letterman/Leno ad.

I was in the French Quarter when the Saints won
Lots of chanting even hours after the game.  Everyone was high fiving each other and saying "Who dat!" to complete strangers.  One random guy slapped my butt which was weird but whatever.  Great night to be in New Orleans!

[ Parent ]
No I didn't actully
The police pushed me out of the way to go near this guy but I don't know what he had dome.  Beyond that that's the worst thing I saw.  Kind of scary thinking about it...

I was right there when it happened
I saw the guy getting arrested. I didn't know what happened, but when I got home it was on the news from the station that was filming above us and they said it happened right below them.

[ Parent ]
Wow. Glad to hear you're safe considering how close you were.
What time was it around?  I left fairly early at around 11:30.
