NY-23: Owens Swamps All Comers in Fundraising

The three candidates running in NY-23 have all just posted their pre-special FEC reports, which covers the period from July 1st to Oct. 14th. Owens has crushed Scozzafava and Hoffman:

Candidate Raised Spent CoH Debt 48-Hr Rpts.
Bill Owens $502,197 $373,836 $128,361 $125,561 $127,357
Dede Scozzafava $233,583 $204,879 $40,703 $12,000 $47,300
Doug Hoffman $205,139 $229,879 $73,045 $215,200 $65,900

Note that Hoffman made a $102K loan to himself, and Scozzafava loaned herself $12K. The final column refers to the so-called "48-hour reports" that campaigns must file shortly before an election. These disclosures fill the gap between the last date covered by the final report (which I've detailed above) and election day. Owens has also been lapping the field on this score, too. The fact that Scozzafava's 48-hour reports are weaker than Hoffman's - and the fact that she has less cash-on-hand - signal some dire times for her down the stretch run.

What the hell Owens?!
Didn't you get the memo: Republicans are energizing and raising boatloads while Democrats are too disillusioned with Obama to pitch in.  I demand he return all that money and apologize to the pundits immediately!

Seriously, excellent news.  I'm hopeful he'll not only win but crack 50% to shut up anyone saying Dems can only win with a split GOP field.

Thanks!
I'm much more funny when I'm happy, and great fundraising reports make me VERY happy!  :)

Remember, these numbers are before President Obama's fundraiser
of Oct 20, if I remember right - another 250k right there.

I don't think so
That should be in the 48 hour numbers if I've got it right.

Do we have source info?
The dates listed in the diary are through Oct 14, just over a week ago.

I'm not exactly sure how the 48-hour reports work
But presumably they should cover donations made at the Obama event.

Then something's not adding up
per http://www.watertowndailytimes... the fundraiser was for 50 people, at $4800/person, which should be about 250k, more than the 127k in the 48 hour report.

Hoffman has raised $210,000 since Oct 15

You're right: those probably weren't the last 48 hours unless he didn't report the money between October 15 and October 22.

I thought Owens and DCCC split the money. That'd be 125K if I'm right.

All The Money Goes To Owens
The first $2400 goes to the special election, the second $2400 is earmarked for the 2010 primary (which technically speaking is going on right now).
