NARPAC is the National Association of Realtors PAC, which has so far has sided with Democratic incumbents this year, but I've heard buzz that the PAC will be spending some significant cash in support of at least one GOP member very shortly.

The DCCC is continuing to stretch out its head start over the tighter-budgeted NRCC, which so far has been limited to polling and a few direct expenditures (such as in MN-03).

For more details on these expenditures, please consult SSP's Independent Expenditure Tracker (which is also available on the right-hand side bar under "Resources"). We keep it updated daily -- or as needed.

Does anybody have any idea what the hell OPHTHPAC is doing? Or when did Ophthamologists form a PAC?
It's just plain weird. It's like the ADAA (American Dental Assistants Association) going after Joe Courtney or something. Bizarre.

The question I should really ask - What the heck is an ophthamologist and has anyone seen one lately? Did he look mad? n/t

Eye Doctors
Maybe Loebsack supports free universal laser eye surgery for those with bad vision. thereby pissing off eye doctors?  I dunno... just a wild guess.

someone answered this topic on another thread
Apparently Loebsack's opponent is an Ophthalmologist. So I guess their just supporting their own members

Thanks lordpet8. I never would have known. n/t

What a huge waste of money
They could have paid me $50 to give them poll results for their candidate:

"You lose."

I think the chance of Democratic pickups are slipping out of reach.
Between Mumpower and OPHTHPAC, I don't no what we're going to do. Maybe we'll have a better shot in 2010.

Thank you NARPAC!
Kanjorski is a pretty good Democrat, and I don't want to lose him.  I'm glad that the DCCC is investing in Dahlkemper in PA-03.  She's anti-choice, but she's excellent on all other issues - particularly healthcare.

McNerney & ObamaTravel.org
I just McNerney would be a little less lame. I fought hard for him and haven't been as happy as I had hoped - I guess he does live in a pretty conservative section of CA, though.

Also, Craigslist founder, Craig Newmark, recently wrote about this site on the Huffington Post. I thought it sounded like a great fusion of politics and technology - and worth passing along:

http://ObamaTravel.org - real grassroots democracy

"Hey, this is a good example of genuine grassroots democracy:

http://ObamaTravel.org is a platform that connects volunteers who want to travel to a swing state with financial sponsors and swing state host families. It's sort of a political hybrid of craigslist and Team-in-Training - volunteers post profiles and solicit sponsorship from their family and friends. Sponsors can see their donations in action by following the activities of their volunteers.

... and let's remember that "community organizing" is pure grassroots democracy."
