FL-25: Diaz-Balart Claims Support From Wasserman Schultz and Meek

Longtime readers of the Swing State Project know that we have written extensively about the Debbie Wasserman Schultz controversy in the past (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here), so I won’t spill a ton of ink on the subject again. However, FLA Politics shares this disgusting new video of GOP Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart basking in the warm glow of his “bipartisan” support from Democratic Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (co-chair of the DCCC’s Red to Blue program) and Kendrick Meek:

It’s entirely predictable that Diaz-Balart, facing the fight of his political career against Democrat Joe Garcia and barely leading in the latest poll, would pull this pair of Democratic bunnies out of his hat. Note how clearly he is savoring the fact that Schultz and Meek “refuse to help” Garcia, and let that be a lesson to any weak-hearted Dems who give cover to their vulnerable GOP colleagues.

  1. I think she’s a prime pick (Jew, moderate, working mom) to take out Martinez and it will free up someone a bit more dedicated be in charge of Red to Blue.

  2. They basically have an unwritten policy of collaborating with Florida house republicans to stay out of their races and be content with their little D+15 or higher feifdoms.  Most of them couldn’t care less how few Democrats are in the FL delegation so long as they ae drawn districts so democratic they never have to worry about getting re-elected.

  3. question for the Chairman! Mr. Van Hollen, after revieweing this, please explain why I should donate to the DCCC instead of selecting my own Democratic candidates to support through ActBlue?

  4. I checked with Wasserman-Schultz’ campaign office and found that the Congresswoman has indeed contributed to Joe Garcia’s campaign. Diaz-Balart is simply (how to put this?) lying.

  5. A press release specifically citing his statement followed by her own statement that she has contributed to and endorses Garcia!
