GA-Sen: You Did It!

by: James L.

I can't believe my eyes! Look at this:

Goal Thermometer

Earlier in the day, DavidNYC challenged the SSP community to raise $500 for Georgia Senate candidate Jim Martin, who is currently locked in a tight race with the odious GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss. Well, you guys answered that call to action (and then some), and the SSP Blogfather himself has laid down five Franklins as a matching gift just a few minutes ago.

Give yourselves a big pat on the back. You guys have truly went above and beyond to both help Jim Martin scrape together the resources he needs and to help us meet our goals. While we won't be moving the goalposts again (at least, not right now), if anyone wants to help push us past $5,000, you are certainly welcome to.

Once again, thank you for your generosity!

That would also get Jim above 100K raised over all.

Just as I thought.  SSP's endorsement and fundraising have turned this race into a tossup.

Haha
Yes, obviously SSP tipped the scales here. :)

Keep adding
let's double it again. 9,200. We can do it!

Major DSCC commitment
Does anyone know if the DSCC has yet made a massive commitment to this race similar to that of North Carolina?  At this point it would probably make sense for them to favor this race over others such as Maine.

Hmm
I think I got something via email from DSCC the other day talking about expanding the races to Georgia and Kentucky, but I can't really remember... I get so much, and read so much on here and a few other sites, that it all sort of becomes a blur. At any rate, I get the vague sense that it wasn't announcing a commitment, just trying to get my money so that they could make a committment. lol

Not yet
but they should buy up as much air time as they can. It's freaking tied already, North Carolina wasn't that way when the DSCC reserved 8 million dollars.

I bet Dole had weaker favorable ratings than Chambliss has / does have though.
